- Men and women who want to be remain independent during the healing process.
- People with foot or ankle fractures, dislocations, or sprains.
- Individuals who have had foot or ankle surgery.
- Diabetics with Charcot joint disease, ulcers, or other complications.
- Common users are patients with bunionectomies, Achilles tendon problems,
and foot reconstruction.
- Those with neuro-muscular problems, arthritis, or amputations may also benefit; depending upon the doctors prescription.
When should a knee scooter be used and for how long?

- As your doctor or surgeon prescribes- first and foremost.
- Surgeons typically recommend from 6 to 14 weeks of no weight-bearing after surgery or serious foot or ankle injury.
- A Leg Up delivers or ships the knee scooter prior to surgery, when possible; otherwise soon thereafter.
- For other injuries, A Leg Up can usually delivers or ships within three days.
- For longer-term usage, purchase may be more cost-effective.

A Leg Up, LLC in Seattle, WA sells and rents knee scooters
in the Seattle Metropolitan area, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Bothell, Brier, Lake Forest Park,
Kenmore, Shoreline, South Everett, Woodway and Mountlake Terrace. Outside the delivery
area, shipping service is available.
Should I buy or rent?

If you are planning to use a scooter for 3 months or less, we recommend renting.
If at any time during your rental period you decide you would like to purchase
your scooter, please contact us and we will apply a percentage of your rental
payments towards your purchase price.
If you plan on using a scooter for 4 months or more, we recommend a purchase.
What if I
would like to purchase my rented knee scooter?

You may purchase your knee scooter at any time. We will apply a percentage of
your rental payments towards the purchase price.
Is there a minimum rental period?

Not if your rental is picked up at our office or delivered within the Seattle
Metropolitan Area. Rentals shipped to other locations, will have a minimum
rental term of 4 weeks.
Is there a security deposit?
Back to top
Security deposit can be a credit card held on file, or a check in the amount
of $150. Secuity deposit will be released when the scooter is returned in
working order with no more than normal wear and tear. If deposit was in the
form of a check, at the close of your account the check will be destoryed or
returned. If a balance remains, the check will be cashed to cover the charges
and then any remaining amount will be returned.
Will my knee scooter be in
a good condition?

We check all knee scooters and verify they are in good working condition, clean
and neat in appearance, each and every time they are sent out. We check brakes,
steering alignment, wheel bearings, tire wear, pad wear & general condition.
Hand grips are replaced and the scooter is disinfected. You can expect your
scooter to both look and functioning properly.
When will I receive my
security deposit back?

If you paid a deposit, it will be credited to your credit card at the end of your
rental when your knee scooter has been returned damage free, with only normal
wear and tear. Any insurance billing must also be finalized.
What if
I need to change the length of my knee scooter rental?

If you no longer need your knee scooter, just call our office to schedule an
appointment to return it. Your rental period is weekly, if you have previously
paid for weeks you don't need, they will be credited to your account.
If you need it longer than you originally expected, you can extend your rental
for as many weeks as you may need the knee scooter. Each additional week will be
charged per the rate on your rental agreement.
What if
my knee scooter needs to be repaired during my rental?

Please contact us promptly and our trained technician will assist you. If it is
determined that a repair appointment is needed, it will be scheduled according
to your convenience and technicians availability. If needed a replacement knee
scooter of the same or comparable model will be provided. Customer safety and
satisfaction is of utmost importance to us.
Will Medicare
pay for the rental of my knee scooter?

Please contact Medicare to determine whether you are eligible. We cannot file
for Medicare on your behalf.
Medicare may not pay for you knee scooter. We do not make any guarantee Medicare
will reimburse your rental or purchase fees.
Will you file with Medicare
on my behalf?

No, we are unable to file your claim with Medicare, however we will provide you
with documentation needed to aide your claim.
Will you bill my insurance company for the rental of my knee walker?

Yes, we will bill insurance. Please read our insurance policy, complete the
online form and follow directions provided. Alternately, if you have paid us
directly, we will provide you with a statement at the end of your rental that
includes the information needed for requesting reimbursement. (Also See �Will you submit a reimbursement claim� for

Will you submit a reimbursement claim to my insurance company for the rental of

At the end of your rental, after your account has been paid in full, you may
request we submit a claim on your behalf to your insurance company. Please read
our insurance policy, complete the online form and follow directions provided.
Will I have to pay sales tax?

Washington State customers will be charged sales tax bases upon the location of
delivery.
